A cute football....

High School football started this past Friday. Our team won their first game. NFL teams will take the field in less than 2 weeks. Watching football is one of my favorite Fall/Winter activities as I know it is alot of other people's.

This year I'll be watching, while enjoying my Dr. Pepper in my cute little football bottle. I purchased it at Walmart.

Are you ready for some football........

Nights in Rodanthe-I gave Sparks work a shot...

Whenever we were watching "Pay it Forward" there was a preview of a DVD that looked very interesting. So Tuesday I purchased and we watched "Nights in Rodanthe." Now to be truthful, I wasn't sure right up until the moment I handed the lady my money if I was going to buy this movie.

Why so much indecision on my part? Two words "Nicholas Sparks." As I've said before when I read a book or watch a movie I don't delibertly look to cry lol. I've heard many times Nicholas Sparks works are very good but sad. Thereforth, I've NEVER touched his work until this past Tuesday night.

Here's a short synopsis I found on the web of "Nights in Rodanthe."

"In "Nights in Rodanthe," Oscar nominee Diane Lane(btw I LOVED her haircut) stars as Adrienne Willis, a woman with her life in chaos, who retreats to the tiny coastal town of Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to tend to a friend's inn for the weekend. Here she hopes to find the tranquility she so desperately needs to rethink the conflicts surrounding her -- a wayward husband who has asked to come home, and a teenaged daughter who resents her every decision. Almost as soon as Adrienne gets to Rodanthe, a major storm is forecast and a guest named Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere) arrives. The only guest at the inn, Flanner is not on a weekend escape but rather is there to face his own crisis of conscience. Now, with the storm closing in, the two turn to each other for comfort and, in one magical weekend, set in motion a
life-changing romance that will resonate throughout the rest of their lives."

Here again are my own personal ratings for movies:

1. don't bother
2. would be ok for white noise
3. was ok nothing to rave about tho.
4. pretty good would recommend-possibily with a disclaimer
4.5 One of the movies I'd put my doubts aside and try with results being I definately recommend this(new rating as a result of this movie lol)
5. FANTASTIC really recommend this.

With all that being said I would give "Nights in Rodanthe" a BIG 4.5 even tho it made me cry. I
loved this movie. Would I try anymore of anything related to Nicholas Sparks? Well I don't know that I'd go that far yet. But it was a new experience for me and I'm glad I tried it.

ETA: I wrote this on notepad and then copied & paste. I can't get it edit where it will look right. But it's still readable

not feeling well

I won't be posting much today, not feeling well. The lady that told me where to find bloggers posting options also told me that feature hadn't been working right for some people. Well guess what I'm one of the people it didn't work right for. Let me see if I can get the post I had ready to post out today.

Edit to add: look below this post to see the post that was supposed to post Aug. 18.

Monopoly Deal fast becoming a favorite thing

Are you like me, like to play Monopoly but hardly ever do because it takes so long to play? My granddaughter picked out a Monopoly card game the other day. We've had alot of fun playing this game.

Here's what it says: on the back of the box: The fast-paced, addictive card game where your luck can change in the play of a card. Collect 3 complete property sets, but beware Debt Collectors, Forced Deals, and the dreaded Deal Breakers, which could change your fortunes at any time.

There are a few more cards in there that can get you too lol. This game is addictive and fun.

Blogger hides things to well

LOL I've been looking everywhere trying to figure out how to set post to post on a different day and time. Should have known as hard as I was looking the answer would be right under my nose.

Here's the answer: At the bottom of the box where your type you blog...click on post options..it will bring up a grayish box...on the right is a date and time...change it to the date and time you want the post to appear.

Thanks Ginger from http://gingersjourney.blogspot.com/

I knew you'd know.

One of my favorite things

I like to take pictures of all kinds of things. I wish I had a REALLY good camera lol. I came up with a idea yesterday for some blog post. So since my blog is called loving life as me, I thought I'd take my love of photography and post pictures of some of my favorite things. Hey, Oprah does it why can't we? :)

If you haven't guessed by now I love Dr. Pepper. Especially, when it's good and cold on a hot day like today. It might sound like boring, mundane subject. But I see it as sharing one of my simple pleasures.

What are some of your favorite things? How often do you indulge in them? I need my soda everyday guess I'm addicted to it lol

My favorite person is my granddaughter but I can only post her photo on my facebook or myspace page.

Pay it forward

Whether I'm reading, watching something or creating. I like things that help me and others possibily learn how to help make our world a better place. For others as well as ourselves. I don't watch much tv or movies but when I do I like them to fall in the afore mention.

I also like the shows I watch to have happy endings. To me life can have enough sadness in it without opening myself up to more heartache watching a movie or tv. I also don't watch horror. Again enough spooky stuff in the world. Altho, I do love to hear or read a good ghost story. Now please remember those are just my personal preferences.

With all that being said here's my personal ratings for movings or t.v.

1. don't bother
2. would be ok for white noise
3. was ok nothing to rave about tho.
4. pretty good would recommend-possibily with a disclaimer
5. FANTASTIC really recommend this.

Thursday night my daughter, granddaughter and I watched a movie called "Pay it Forward". It's about a 11 year old boy, who for a social studies challenge at school decides to help 3 different people. Then those 3 people are supposed to each help 3 more people, instead of thanking or paying the little boy back. Then each of those 3 help 3 more and so on and so on.

I LOVED this movie and was thinking 5, 5, 5 up until the last 5 minutes of the movie. The last 5 minutes my daughter and I bawled our eyes out! I would still give this movie a high 4. Altho, I don't plan on watching it again. But I do hope to implement it's premise in my life.

If you've seen this moving or know about "pay it forward" I'd love to read your comments as to what you think.

Haven't been here in awhile

I haven't posted here in a bit. To be truthful, I wasn't getting many comments so wasn't sure anyone was reading. But as I looked today I see I have some followers so I'll try to post more often.

I research the web enough that even if I personally don't have anything to post, I'm sure I'll be able to share a inspiring blog, or article.

How do you like my new haircut? It's been 6 months and I needed one lol
